Community Giving Back ~ One Dollar At A Time
December 1, 2015
This year for over twenty days before Thanksgiving Publix collected donations from the Mount Juliet, Tennessee community shoppers for the Mt. Juliet Help Center. Even though we give back year-round, the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season brings out the sense of compassion and charity in us all.
With the Publix giving program our community had the opportunity to donate to the Help Center and as of last Wednesday evening there was over 10,000 dollars collected for this giving campaign at Publix. What an amazing gift that will help so many families in our community.
The Help Center provides short-term assistance in the form of food, clothing, limited utility assistance and other forms of support to persons in need in West Wilson County. They are located on North Mt Juliet Road in their new building next door to Celebration Lutheran Church. They have also received collection from the local School can drives, to local businesses that donate a portion of their sales like Smith Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, Active Life Chiropractic & Rehabilitation of Mt Juliet, Taziki’s Restaurant, Blue Coast Burrito, Sonny’s Music Café, and the Mt Juliet Chamber of Commerce Be Social Committee to just name a few.
The Center is operated by mostly volunteers. They also receive food boxes this time of year from Big Brothers of Mt. Juliet. This is a much needed support center for people in our community. As your thinking of giving back throughout the year stop by the Mt. Juliet Help to see what assistance you can provide.
